Stepping Stones

We understand that your family may not be eligible for Habitat homeownership immediately.  If this is your family’s situation, we would like to extend an opportunity to participate in our Stepping Stones Program.  You will be asked to complete an action plan that empowers you to make changes, correct issues and remove obstacles to becoming a future Habitat homeowner.   Additionally, as a participant, you may qualify for financial assistance to enroll in Pathstone’s Homebuyer Education Program, which is offered locally in Batavia, NY.  You may also begin accumulating sweat equity hours while enrolled in this program, a requirement for Habitat homeownership.  Successful completion of the Stepping Stones Program will satisfy a maximum of 25 sweat equity hours out of a total 300-500 hours required.
